We are now entering an accelerated phase in completing our buildings so that we are ready to start receiving children in March of 2016.  In addition to hosting three teams that worked on our “punch” list of items in our building, we were able to complete some of our infrastructure projects.

Our Honduran workers are finishing the front entrance of our Children’s Village.

A contractor has installed the water pump for our water well.  The well was tested for flow rate and we found that it is capable of producing 50 gallons a minute. This is a lot more water than we will need.  The water will be used by our Children’s Village and the El Portillo village.  We want to thank all of the people that have provided the funds and hard work to make this possible.

In October, we also received all of our kitchen appliances from the US.  We received two refrigerators, two freezers, two stoves, two deep fryers, a brazing pan and a ton of small wares.   We want to thank Jeff Griffiths, owner of Miller and Associates, for his hard work at helping us get most of this equipment donated to Promise Home.

We would also like to thank Doris Fuller who selected all of the small wares for the kitchen.

The first of our three teams arrived Oct 2ndThe team was led by Bill Ferrell from The Heights Baptist Church in Richardson, Texas. They worked with Pastor Adelmo on ministry opportunities in our church with children and the youth and also remodeled the church by knocking down the block wall that ran down the center of the church.  Wow what a difference that made!

They painted the soffits on our cafeteria and on our school building; then the team installed a pila for a family in our area.

The second team was led by Marc Hernandez from The Heights Church.  This team is known as the plumbing guys.  Marc and his team have installed the rough our plumbing in the ground and have completed the finished plumbing for all of the buildings in our Children’s Village. This year Marc’s team did the rough out plumbing for our last building in the Children’s Village – the second casita.

The second casita will be home for twenty children when it is completed.

The third team in October was a team from Illinois and led by Jim Murphy.

Jim’s team hit the punch list hard.  They completed the wiring in all of our buildings and finished painting the cafeteria and school building.

Jim’s team, who holds the record for the most pilas installed in one day, installed four pilas in a half day!

Again, we are excited about entering this new phase in the life of Promise Home.  A phase where we will be providing a home for abused or abandoned Honduran children and starting two new children ministries in 2016.  Please pray that God will provide his leadership in all that we do.

Thank you all,

Bill Hayden
