February and March have been very busy months. After the Kentucky team installed the roof for the new school/ administration building, Julio (our Honduran Director) started setting up the next ten 40’ tilapia ponds.
Our goal is to have all ten ponds completed by the middle of April. We will have 41 large 40’ ponds. Today we have over 600,000 tilapia fish in our ponds.
In the first week of March, Joe Fuller from Richardson Texas came to help out at Promise Home. He will be staying for five weeks. Enough time to assist us with two teams and help us during the crazy Easter fish season.
During the second week of March, we had two teams at Promise Home. The first group to arrive was a youth team from the Heights Church in Richardson Texas. They were very helpful by painting the new school / administration building and of course themselves.
The teams also led Vacation Bible Schools at two schools. This gave them a chance to witness to over four hundred children.
This was a special week at Promise Home since it was the four year anniversary for our church.
The Heights youth got a chance to interact with about seventy children from the village with a Sunday morning program followed by a baptism.
The second team was from Branson, Missouri. The team was lead by Matt Stallcup. Matt is a full time contractor and specializes in septic installations.
So Matt and his two friends spent a week installing two septic tanks and built a 1,040’ leach field.
In April, Promise Home will host two teams. Both teams will be installing the final electrical for the Children’s Village site and wiring the new preschool / administration building.
God has blessed Promise Home with great teams that have helped us move closer to our goal of receiving children at the end of this year.
