Dateline July 10, 2018

In late June, we had a team from the FBC Vincennes church in Indiana led by Brent and Becky Stuckey.  Since it was a large team of 27 people, we divided the team up into five construction groups to work on the new casita and to expand the hatchery. The casita construction team installed 3,000 feet of wire, painted the building inside and out, installed the rough out plumbing and installed the furring strips for the ceiling.

The hatchery construction team laid block around the perimeter of the new hatchery.

Our team wanted to have a SPA day for the young girls in our After School program.  That is always a lot of fun.

The team brought 23 suitcases full of clothes for a clothes and food drive in a small village 20 minutes outside of El Progreso.  Pastor Steve Anderson met with the parents then they selected clothes for their children.

On the team’s last day, the team installed four pilas in our area.  A pila is always greatly appreciated.

In the first week of July we received a talented team of childhood development specialists and their daughters from the Dallas area to assist Joana, our children’s director, with setting up an education and nutrition programs for our children. The team was led by Cecilie Anders.

Our children had a great time with the new programs.  Here they have butterfly wings.

Here they are being taught a song that matches the color of their blocks.

Our children loved the new toys and games that they received.

The team spent a day giving a lecture to parents in our community on early childhood development and nutrition.  This was very well received and appreciated.

In August, we will have a team from Texas here at Promise Home that will remodel a small school in a poor village adjacent to Promise Home.

Thanks for all you do!

Bill
