In January, Jim Murphy and his son Dalton, spent a week with us completing the “punch list” items in our Children’s Village area.
They focused on the kitchen area installing lights, fixed plumbing problems, installed many toilets and worked with our Honduran workers to get the kitchen completed.
At the end of January, the Kentucky team came to Promise Home to install the roof on the Director’s home.
Since we had five women on the team, we were also able to paint the kitchen inside and out, paint the outside of the administration/preschool building and the outside of the children’s casita!
Of course we took the opportunity to have a VBS with the children in our church on Sunday morning.
We are really please with the way the kitchen looked after our teams worked so hard to clean and install the equipment.
A very special thanks to Jeff Griffiths of Miller and Associates who worked for a year getting most of this equipment donated to Promise Home.
Here is the Kentucky team with our Honduran staff.
On February 15th, all of our Children’s Division staff will start a two week training program in preparation for receiving the children in March.
Here is our Assistant Director, Reina Sarmiento, Director, Judith Orellana and our Psychologist, Glenda Lopez.
Here are our three guards, Martin Vasquez, Johnny Martinez and Francisco Guevara.
Maritza Pacheco and Sonora Mejia , our two “Tia’s” that will provide a mother’s love and stay in the casita with our children will also be in training this week.
We are so excited like a set of parents who will be bringing home their first child. Thanks to all of our friends that have worked so hard on this project over the last eight years to make this possible.
Please pray for God’s guidance as we now become responsible for these precious lives.
Thanks,
Bill Hayden
