This month our small family of children has grown to ten when we received a little nine day old baby boy. It is exciting and challenging to have so many babies at Promise Home.
In August we have had two teams visit Promise Home. The first team was from the First Baptist Church in Frisco, Texas. It was led by Kirk Andrews. They focused on helping us in the fish business.
They completed an 8’ x 12’ walk in cooler for our fish processing business and installed an air conditioner to make the fish processing area more comfortable.
They also installed lights and electricity for the new hatchery.
The second team was from Indiana and led by Nick Sims. They worked on our new After School education building.
They installed the roof, painted the building, installed the plumbing and electrical. The new school will be used as classrooms for the K-6th grade students.
Since Nick’s team was large, many of the team members were able to spend time taking care of our children and working in the After School Program.
If you are following Dennis’ artwork, he has completed his last mural for our third class room. We are all amazed at Dennis’ artistic skills.
In closing, we are sad to say good bye to Madie Wisnie our short term missionary. She was at Promise Home for two months and did a great job at starting and managing our new After School Program.
I just want to personally thank all of the teams and churches that have helped us this year. Having the children here and seeing the impact that the After School Program has already had on our community is an encouraging reminder of our purpose in Christ.
